'Greatest-ever Run-chase Co-ordinator in Kohli But The Damage...': WC Legend's Formula to Beat India
Adam Gilchrist also shared a piece of advice for the Indian team and said they need to develop a fast bowling program to get more success in overseas conditions.

Legendary Australia wicketkeeper batter Adam Gilchrist has suggested a plan to the cricket team to outclass India in the ongoing ODI World Cup. Rohit Sharma and Co. have been a force to reckon with in the mega event as they are the only unbeaten side thus far with 8 wins in as many matches. The Men in Blue have played dominant cricket and managed to outclass their opponents in all three departments.

Gilchrist has suggested that the teams should bat first after winning the toss against India as he pointed out that they have the greatest run-chase in Virat Kohli but their bowling has been lethal under lights.

“I think firstly winning the toss and batting first, given how India have gone about their business. I don’t suggest that they have a weakness in chasing. They have the greatest-ever run-chase co-ordinator in Virat Kohli. But the damage that the Indian bowling attack has been doing under lights, they have been lethal. Siraj, Shami, and Bumrah have been almost unplayable. It might be more conducive to bat against them in daylight,” Gilchrist told Fox Cricket.

Meanwhile, Gilchrist also shared a piece of advice for the Indian team and said they need to develop a fast bowling program to get more success in overseas conditions.

“India identified that they were a bit top-heavy with the spin talent, especially with the conditions over there. But if they wanted to be competitive overseas, they needed to develop a fast bowling program. The MRF pace academy with Dennis Lilee and now Glenn McGrath certainly helped,” he added.

Meanwhile, the legendary wicketkeeper, who won the World Cup thrice with Australia, hailed the Indian cricket team for their ferocious performance in the ongoing tournament and suggested that the it’s the bowling attack which makes them a big threat.

“India have a well-balanced bowling lineup as the fast bowling talent is beautifully married with a couple of varieties of spin. Jadeja’s stats are amazing. Kuldeep Yadav is a variation that can often bamboozle any opposition. And then you have Ravi Ashwin sitting in the background hardly getting a go. They have always had a powerful batting line-up. But it’s the potency of the bowling that’s making them such a threat at the moment,” he added.
