Bigg Boss 16 contestants Shiv Thakare and Abdu Rozik were reportedly recently summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection to an alleged money laundering case. If a report by Free Press Journal is to be believed, the case is linked to alleged drug lord Ali Asghar Shirazi. Reportedly, Shiv and Abdu appeared before ED as witnesses in the case.
The news portal claims that Ali Asghar Shirazi floated Hustlers’ Hospitality Pvt Ltd. financed several startups including that of Shiv Thakare’s ‘Thakare Chai and Snacks’ and Abdu Rozik’s ‘Burgiir’ in Mumbai. Shirazi is said to have invested money, he made through narco-fundinging, in these food chains. However, when Shiv and Abdu got to know about Ali Asghar Shirazi’s alleged involvement in the narco business, they terminated their contracts.
Reportedly, during his interrogation, Shiv Thakare told ED officials that he met the director of Hustlers Hospitality – Krunal Ojha, through somebody in 2022. It was after his meeting that Krunal offered him a partnership deal for the Thakare Chai and Snacks. More details about the case are now awaited.
Shiv Thakare and Abdu Rozik met for the first time inside the Bigg Boss 16 house when they developed a close bond with one another. Their friendship became one of the highlights of the show. The two were also friends with Sajid Khan, MC Stan, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Sumbul Touqeer. The group was called ‘mandali’ and their friendships stayed connected even after the show.
After Bigg Boss 16, Abdu and Shiv were also seen in Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi wherein Rozik was a guest contestant on the show. He was seen acing a few stunts while he rooted for his friend Shiv Thakare in the show then. The two had a fun banter in Cape Town, South Africa, several videos of which also went viral on social media.
