Sandeep Reddy Vanga Calls USA Fans 'Right Audience' For Animal: 'Didn't Hear Questions On Misogyny'
Sandeep Reddy Vanga said that his fans in USA saw Animal as a film and he didn't get any questions on misogyny.

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, was released in theatres a week ago and was declared a blockbuster hit on its opening day. Animal is Sandeep’s third directorial venture after Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy and Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh. Much like his previous two films, Animal also became the subject of controversy for its misogynistic and problematic scenes. However, Sandeep found some validation recently among his fans overseas.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently attended a promotional event for Animal in Dallas, Texas (USA). After the event, Sandeep said on stage, “What I really like about this crowd is that I didn’t hear any questions on misogyny. I’m so happy, you are the right crowd. You saw Animal as a film.” A video of the same has gone viral on Reddit.

As Sandeep was trying to leave the venue, a huge crowd of men mobbed him, making his exit difficult. They also started chanting the filmmaker’s name. With only three films, Sandeep has amassed a significant amount of fan following among certain members of society.

As for Animal, Ranbir’s film is breaking box office records and how. The box office collection hints that the film is far from done with its run at the cinemas. As the movie enters its second-week run, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has minted over Rs 23.5 crores at the ticket window on its second Friday.

Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film shows Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gunning down 200 people. However, despite his efforts, he struggles to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). His unhealthy relationship with his father impacts his relationship with his wife (played by Rashmika Mandanna).

Although Animal is doing phenomenal business, it has been hit by controversy. The film has been accused of glorifying misogyny and toxic masculinity by several social media users.
