Paresh Rawal is touted as one of the best comedy actors in Bollywood. His performance as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the cult comedy film Hera Pheri is regarded as a masterclass performance in the genre. Paresh reprised his role in the 2006 sequel of the film titled Phir Hera Pheri. However, his fans have been asking for a third instalment in the franchise for a long time now.
While Hera Pheri 3 is in the pipeline, Paresh Rawal said he is very “nervous” about the project. Due to the film releasing after many years, Paresh is “scared” if it will meet the audience’s expectations.
He told Pinkvilla, “Of course, there is excitement, but along with it, there is a lot of nervousness too. I am sometimes scared also that the final product should come out the way it was conceived. We have expectations, but more than us, the audience has expectations. They have waited far too long for Hera Pheri and Welcome also. So, yes, I am scared.”
While Hera Pheri hasn’t been announced officially, it is reported that Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty will all reprise their roles from the beloved franchise. Meanwhile, Paresh will also be seen in the third instalment of another one of his superhit comedy franchises – Welcome.
Welcome 3 or Welcome to the Jungle was announced last month on Akshay Kumar’s birthday on September 9. Directed by Ahmad Khan, the film will also star stellar performers such as Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yashpal Sharma and Raveena Tandon among others.
The multi-starrer film, led by Akshay Kumar, is scheduled to be released in cinemas sometime in December 2024.
