Ishita Dutta and Vatsal Sheth have been married for almost six years now. However, in a recent interview, the Drishyam actress revealed that on her wedding day, she was told by one of her colleagues that it would also be the end of her career. Ishita was speaking to Indian Express when she shared that even though she was left ‘shocked’, she did not stop believing in herself.
“Of course, we have seen so many examples of the same. However, few continue to believe that. I remember a colleague coming to me on my wedding day and saying how it’s the end of my career after marriage. I was shocked but I have always believed nothing will change, and it didn’t. I won’t lie, during pregnancy, my phone wasn’t ringing but that’s understandable as physically I couldn’t travel a lot,” Ishita said.
Ishita and Vatsal also welcomed a baby boy earlier this year. During the interaction, the actress also mentioned that she was ‘all over the place’ during the early days of her motherhood but soon realised that parents need to take some time out for themselves too.
“That has been my focus from day one. A lot of mothers go through guilt but one needs to be happy to raise a happy kid. If you have a support system, I feel every mother and father needs to step out and spend time alone and as a couple. I didn’t even wait for 40 days and decided to go out in 2-3 days, because I was so overwhelmed and emotional,” she said.
“Once I had a baby, I realised why a lot of couples face problems after having a baby. Your focus is so much on the baby that you forget your relationship. As a couple, we made sure we spent time with each other, went for drives and coffee. Recently, we also took a trip where we asked the grandparents to look after the baby, while we spent some quality time together,” the actress added.
Ishita and Vatsal met on the sets of Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar in 2016 and fell in love with each other. The two tied the knot in November 2017.
