After a historic campaign at the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Indian women’s team will be competing once again in a T20I match as this time they will be up against England on Wednesday. The Women in Blue were unstoppable in the 2023 Asian Games as Harmanpreet Kaur led India to their first-ever gold in women’s cricket. They crushed opponents on their way to the final and were set to face Sri Lanka. In that match, India batted first and set a tally of 116 runs in 20 overs. It was Smriti Mandhana who contributed the most as she smashed 46 runs in the game. In the second half, Indian bowlers delivered massively, curbing the Lankans at just 97 runs while losing eight wickets. This secured a comfortable 19-run victory for India. They will now be looking to repeat the same feat against England on home soil next.
India and England will take each other on at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 6. England recently toured Sri Lanka and competed in women’s T20Is and ODIs. They secured a 1-0 victory in the ODI series while taking a 2-1 loss in T20Is. In the deciding game, Sri Lanka just proved to be the better team as they secured a seven-wicket win to clinch the series.

In these games, England hold the upper hand with a whopping 20 victories while India have only managed seven wins against their rivals.
