Ankita Lokhande’s mother Vandana Lokhande has reacted to the allegation that her actress-daughter often uses late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s name on Bigg Boss 17 to gain ‘sympathy’. Ankita’s mother was speaking to India Today recently when argued that her daughter lived with SSR for eight years and therefore, they shared a special bond.
“It is not a strategy or way to gain sympathy. They have been together for eight years and she has lived that journey with him. Even when they broke up, she has always thought well of him and how it was his way to move ahead in his career. And when he passed away, she was completely broken as they had that kind of bond,” Vandana Lokhande said.
Interestingly, this comes a day after Ankita’s mother-in-law accused the actress of using Sushant’s name to gain sympathy for herself. “Ankita has been naming Sushant. Looks like she is trying to take sympathy for herself. Sushant is anyway gone,” Vicky Jain’s mother told Saas Bahu Aur Saajish.
Ankita and Sushant made their acting debut together with Pavitra Rishta when they fell in love with each other. The two dated for seven years before they broke up. Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020.
In one of the previous Bigg Boss 17 episodes, Ankita recalled Sushant’s death and told Munawar, “When I saw him, I felt everything was over. So many films he watched, and everything was over. There was this one picture of him which was very bad.”
“It looked like he was sleeping. I just kept looking at that picture and thought there was so much in his brain. I knew him very well. He must have had so much in his brain but all was vanished. You are nothing, you’re just a body then,” the actress added.
