Mirzapur is gearing up for its third season premiere on July 5. The series features a talented cast including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, and Vijay Varma. As fans speculate on what’s in store, one of the top assumptions is a crossover with other Prime Video shows. In an interview with ANI, Ali Fazal unintentionally revealed that Jitendra Kumar’s character Sachiv Ji from Panchayat will make a cameo appearance in Mirzapur 3.
He said, “That’s cross-promotion. We have done that.” The agency also mentioned that Jitendra Kumar will appear in two episodes as Sachiv Ji, dealing with paperwork related to Kaleen Bhaiya’s (Pankaj Tripathi) death.
Spilling beans on the upcoming season of Mirzapur, Ali Fazal told The Free Press Journal that it has taken a different route with more grip on drama. “Interestingly, we have introduced hand combat. We lose some important characters, but we gain some new ones. I underwent a different kind of preparation, which was fun,” he added. Ali also acknowledged that his character in the Mirzapur franchise turned out to be a “career-defining” role, holding significance for the industry. He also admitted that the show gave him more opportunities and expanded his horizons, further explaining that its impact was very different from typical shows, affecting the trajectory of his Hollywood journey.
The trailer for the show was recently unveiled, promising more drama, blood and power play. It features Guddu Bhaiya striving to impose his influence over Purvanchal, while Rasika Duggal’s character switches sides to join him.
Unfortunately, this time, fans of Mirzapur will miss the beloved character Munna Bhaiya, played by Divyenndu, which has left them somewhat disappointed. Despite Munna Bhaiya’s death at the end of Mirzapur 2, fans had hoped the makers might bring him back, given the strong connection audiences had with his character.
