When Salman Khan Found It 'Difficult' To Romance Sonam Kapoor In PRDP: 'Couldn't Get Much Purity In Me'
Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor's age difference was a talking point when Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo was released.

Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor have maintained a close friendship over the years. Having worked together in several films like Biwi No 1 and No Entry among others, Salman and Anil share a special bond. So, was it easy or awkward for Salman to romance Anil’s daughter Sonam Kapoor in Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo? An old clip of the actor answering this question has resurfaced on Reddit and it went viral quickly on the microblogging site.

In the clip, Salman told 9XE, “See, Sooraj Barjatya’s romance is different, it’s pure. I just couldn’t get that much of purity in me. It was difficult.” Before answering the question, Salman even jokingly asked to move on to the next question. He then added, “I think she suited the role to the T. She was the perfect casting for this movie. Even though I didn’t initially agree with it but then I was convinced by Sooraj Barjatya.”

However, Sonam had a different opinion about romancing Salman. When asked if it was awkward to romance Salman, she said, “No, not at all. I loved it. I don’t know about him.” Sonam also mentioned that her association with Salman goes long back as their families know each other. She said, “Obviously, I know him and I’ve watched all his films and I know his family quite well.” Salman added, “I know her father really well.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, superstar Salman Khan revealed the title of his upcoming film with AR Murugadoss (of Ghajini fame) on the occasion of Eid this year. The actor, who is known for his Eid releases, promised to return to the big screen on Eid 2025. Titled Sikandar, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna. Sikandar will reportedly be shot in Portugal and other European countries apart from some portions in India on a huge budget of Rs 400 crore, making it the most ambitious film of Sajid Nadiadwala.

Salman was also said to be starring in Karan Johar’s The Bull. Salman had already begun prepping for the film. However, the film has been shelved for now due to differences between Salman and Karan. The superstar will also begin prep for Tiger vs Pathaan alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Both actors have reportedly been narrated the script and have given their approval.
