While Leo Woodall auditioned for Mary & George, Nicholas revealed he gave a shot for White Lotus.

Nicholas Galitzine and Leo Woodall, two up-and-coming actors, have gained popularity for their recent standout performances in Idea of You and One Day, respectively. They recently met for a candid chat as part of the Variety Actors on Actors segment. During their conversation, they discovered something surprising. Interestingly, during the conversation, they found out that they had auditioned for each other’s roles in their acclaimed projects.

In the episode, Nicholas Galitzine and Leo Woodall realised they support opposing football teams but were surprised to learn they had auditioned for each other’s roles in The White Lotus and Mary & George. Nicholas praised Leo, acknowledging that their industry often pits actors against each other. He remarked, “You and me probably end up going for all the same parts.”

Responding to Nicholas’s statement, Leo Woodall said, “I auditioned for Mary & George.” While the former was initially shocked, he later revealed, “I auditioned for White Lotus. So you’ve got me there.” This again came as a surprise for Leo.

Nicholas Galitzine played George Villiers in Mary & George, a Starz miniseries that revolved around the life of King James I. It also starred Julianne Moore. On the other hand, Leo Woodall portrays Jack in Season 2 of The White Lotus, which will be released in 2022. He plays the guy who fascinates Haley Lu Richardson’s character Portia until his true motives are revealed later in the show.

Further in the segment, the actors talk about their individual projects. Nicholas Galitzine provides details about his role as George Villiers in Mary & George. He shared, “People don’t really look beyond his looks and his powers of seduction, so there’s a desperate want to be loved.”

Meanwhile, Leo Woodall talks about his portrayal of Dexter in One Day. Sharing about whether he took time to transition out of his character in One Day, the actor said, “Shaking off Dexter wasn’t that difficult, because we would do these days where I’d just suffer. And things like that, you want to shake them off immediately.” Leo’s character Dexter is a man who has a complicated relationship with his best friend spanning two decades.
