The upcoming historical Korean drama, Missing Crown Prince starring Suho, a member of the popular K-pop group EXO, has recently announced a delay in its premiere date. The series, which was originally set to premiere on March 9, will now air in the second week of April, after a delay of five weeks from the initial schedule. The decision to postpone the premiere was made by the production team. The team expressed their desire to bring a well-crafted narrative and the best production possible to the audience, asking for their patience and support until the new premiere date.

The official statement by production company MBN read, “In order to deliver a well-developed and flawless story, we decided to delay the premiere of ‘Missing Crown Prince.’ After thorough preparations, we will greet you with a production of utmost quality and a meticulously crafted story. Please anticipate the premiere of ‘Missing Crown Prince’ on April 13 at 9:40 p.m. KST,” reports Soompi.

Missing Crown Prince is set against the backdrop of the Joseon era and follows the story of Crown Prince Lee Geon and Choi Myung Yoon, a woman destined to be his wife. As they flee for their lives, romance ignites between them, offering viewers a whimsical journey of a budding love story amidst the chaos of historical Korea.

Missing Crown Prince is a spin-off of Bossam: Steal the Fate, which has one of the highest viewership ratings in MBN history, Soompi informs.

In addition to Suho, the drama features a talented cast including Hong Ye Ji, who gained fame from the 2022 film 2037, Myung Se Bin as Queen Min Soo Ryun, Kim Min Kyu as Grand Prince Doseong, Yoo Se Rye as Queen Yoon, and Kim Jo Hun as Choi Sang Rok. The impressive cast is expected to bring depth and authenticity to the narrative of Missing Crown Prince.

The screenplay for the drama has been penned by writers Kim Ji Soo and Park Chul, while Kim Jin Man, known for his work on Kill Me, Heal Me (2015), is directing the period drama. The filming of Missing Crown Prince took place in early 2023, with production companies Superbook Co. Ltd. and Chorokbaem Media collaborating with Mungyeong City for the historical production.

Despite the delay in the premiere date, anticipation is high among fans and netizens to see Suho take on the role of Crown Prince Lee Geon in Missing Crown Prince.
