At the pre-release event of Jigra in Hyderabad, renowned director Trivikram Srinivas made a bold statement comparing Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s fanbase to that of Rajinikanth. He shared the stage with Alia Bhatt and Rana Daggubati to celebrate the upcoming release, where he took a moment to express his admiration for Samantha.
“I think after Rajinikanth garu, she has an equal fanbase in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. I’m not saying this just out of love for her, but from the bottom of my heart,” Trivikram stated, receiving applause from the audience.
Samantha has continued to receive widespread love across industries. She has amassed a massive following through her versatile performances in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films, and her fanbase is nothing short of remarkable. She became a household name in Hindi industry after her terrific performance in Raj & DK’s popular series The Family Man 2.
Adding to the praise, Alia Bhatt shared her thoughts on Samantha during the event. “My dearest Samantha, you are a hero both on and off-screen. I admire your talent, resilience, and strength. You’ve defied the odds in a male-dominated world, standing tall as an inspiration for many,” she said. Alia even sang Oo Antava in tribute to Samantha, referencing the iconic song from Pushpa: The Rise, in which Samantha starred alongside Allu Arjun.
Samantha, who last appeared in Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda, has been on a break from acting due to her myositis diagnosis. She is now gearing up for her next release, Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she stars opposite Varun Dhawan. Fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the screen.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will soon appear in Vettaiyan, marking his 170th film, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil. The film is set to release during Dusshera.
