New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan says there are 'very few cinema halls in India', and emphasises the need to open more movie theatres 'on the outskirts' of the cities.
When asked about the lack of cinema theatres, the 'Dabangg' star said that “we can do another ten thousand plus cinema halls in this country”.
“There are very few cinema halls in India and we can still do another ten thousand plus cinema halls in this country. In the main city, with all the real estate price and other things, I think they will rather make a office. So, whatever cinema has to be built, they will have to be built on the outskirts and that is where they should have to be built actually,” Salman told IANS.
Explaining the reason behind the need for cinema halls in the outlying areas, the actor added: “Because lots of small places in the cities they don't have any theatres.”
On the professional front, the actor is busy with the shooting for his forthcoming film 'Sultan'.
In the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, Salman will be seen as a wrestler. He has gained weight for his character. The film will release on July 8.
