Karan Johar couldn’t stop raving about the legendary Amitabh Bachchan during his appearance on Jai Madaan’s ‘Jaane Mann’ podcast. When asked to name someone who embodies both ‘power’ and ‘peace,’ KJo immediately pointed to Amitabh Bachchan.
Johar emphasized that Big B has a presence so commanding that when he enters a room, people instinctively stand up, even without realizing why. “He exudes an aura that goes beyond our understanding of energy or power. That’s true power. Magnetism,” Johar said, according to IANS.
For the concept of peace, Karan Johar chose the late spiritual leader Dada Vaswani. He recalled an overwhelming sense of calm when he first encountered Vaswani amidst 50,000 people. “I interviewed him and I had never really been moved by people in the spiritual world. But I was very moved by his presence and I felt at peace,” the 52-year-old filmmaker shared.
During the podcast, Karan, who recently directed ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, also spoke about living authentically and embracing his true self without regrets.
“I was never like the other boys—their interests, their style, their sports—it just wasn’t me. It took me years to understand that I don’t owe anyone an apology for being different. I’ve embraced who I am, and that’s become my power. To this day, I have never regretted the way I’ve lived or the work I’ve pursued. Everything I do is for me, unapologetically,” he added.
Karan Johar and Amitabh Bachchan have collaborated on several films, including ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. Looking ahead, KJo has announced his next directorial project set for release in 2025. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ as the immortal Ashwatthama and will soon make his Tamil debut in ‘Vettaiyan’. The actor is currently hosting the 16th edition of the popular TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
