Comedian Kapil Sharma is all set to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend Ginni Chatrath on December 12. Reportedly, the ceremonies will begin from December 10, with a ‘Mata Ka Jagran’ at the residence of Kapil’s sister in Amritsar.
A report in DNA suggests that for the pre-wedding rituals, Richa Sharma will take the centerstage to perform at the ‘Jagran’ along with Punjabi devotional singer Master Saleem. While Gurdas Maan will perform on the wedding day, Daler Mehndi will perform at Kapil’s reception on December 14 in Mumbai.
Earlier, Kapil told IANS that his and Ginni's family plan to have a lavish wedding. "We wanted to keep it a low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish," said the comedian.
In a recent conversation with Bombay Times, Kapil and Ginni revealed that at first Ginni’s father rejected the comedian’s proposal to marry her.
"When I started earning well, my mother took my marriage proposal to her family, which got rejected. Her dad sweetly said, ‘Shut up’ (laughs!). Thereafter, I got busy with work, while she pursued MBA in Finance. She kept studying to avoid marriage proposals. At that time, I was settled in Mumbai, and so much was happening in my life. I then realised ki itna kuchh hua hai, but she never disturbed me. Itna patience kisi mein nahi dekha maine (never saw this level of patience in anybody). That’s when I decided that it was the right time to marry,” Kapil had shared.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Kapil recently announced that he would begin shooting for the new season of The Kapil Sharma Show soon. The promotions have also started and the comedian is appearing on a number of reality shows. On the sets of Indian Idol 10, the contestants and makers threw a bachelor’s party for him. He was also surprised by Manish Paul as the host brought Dhols for the comedian-actor.
