‘I’ve Made Mistakes’: Samantha Ruth Prabhu On Endorsing Unhealthy Brands In The Past

Leading South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently discussed the importance of healthy eating, along with wellness expert Alkesh Sharotri in the latest episode of her podcast Take 20. During the episode, one of the users caught her attention and listed her past endeavours of promoting unhealthy brands. He pointed out the hypocritical activity of the actress discussing healthy eating while endorsing unhealthy brands in the past. In response, the actress admitted that she made a mistake by working in advertisements for unhealthy brands. Let’s take a look at this incident in depth.

In the latest episode of the Take 20 podcast, Samantha Nath Prabhu said that she had made many mistakes in the past but it was due to her lack of awareness regarding health. “I have made many mistakes in the past, but then I did not know much about it, but now I have turned down many ad offers. Whatever I say to stay healthy, I also follow it in real life," said Samantha Ruth Prabhu, replying to the user.

Samantha’s life is no less than a rollercoaster. After going through a heartbreaking separation from Naga Chaitanya, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Myositis, a year later. She took a break from acting for the treatment. In Myositis, the inflammation starts occurring inside the body. It usually occurs in the muscles of the shoulders, arms, legs, thighs, waist and hips. This can affect the food pipe, heart and lungs.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu made her film debut in the lead role with the Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010. She starred opposite Naga Chaitanya. It was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film was a hit and the audience praised the lead actors’ chemistry. On the OTT platform, she made her debut with the series The Family Man. She played the role of a terrorist. She was seen in the role of a terrorist named Raji. Manoj Bajpayee played the lead role in the series which was directed by Raj & DK.

On the occasion of her birthday in April this year, Samantha announced her first Telugu film under her production banner Tralala Moving Pictures, titled Bangaram. Samantha shared the motion poster and wrote, “Not everything needs to be shiny to be golden… Starting soon." The film is expected to release in theatres in 2025.
