News of Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande's breakup had shocked many, especially because the then much-loved couple had publicly announced their plans to tie the knot. While multiple publications claimed Ankita's behaviour as a reason for their split, others reported Sushant’s growing stardom and his friendship with his Raabta co-star Kriti Sanon as the key cause for their breakup. In his attempt to end speculations, Sushant had later clarified in a tweet that, "Neither she was an alcoholic nor I am a womaniser. People do Grow apart & its unfortunate. Period!!"
And, another B-Town relationship had come to an end! But fans, who continue to hope for a reconciliation between them, would be happy with the recent development. Ankita is currently gearing up for the release of her debut movie Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. On Thursday, casting director Mukesh Chhabra shared her first look from the film on his Instagram and captioned it: “Here is the official look of actress Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkari Bai in her debut film - Manikarnika. A woman soldier in Rani Laxmibai's army, Jhalkari Bai eventually rose to the position of an advisor to the Queen.”
And guess who was one of the first ones to congratulate Ankita for it? Well, it was none other than Sushant.
Sushant, who was “absolutely” floored by the Ankita's intense look in the film, commented, “It looks absolutely great Ankita. I am extremely happy to see this. May God bless you with lots of success and happiness.” To which Ankita replied, "Thank you Sushant. I wish you the same."
Ankita and Sushant dated for six years before they called it quits in 2016. They worked together on a popular TV show Pavitra Rishta and garnered huge appreciation for their on-screen chemistry.
