It’s time to celebrate for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva team as the film won three National Awards 2024. The film, which starred Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, has been recognized for VFXs, soundtrack, and technical excellence. While Pritam won the Best Music Director for Brahmastra, Arijit Singh won Best Playback Singer Male for the film. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer also won the Best VFX Award.
Hours after the big announcement was made, Namit Malhotra, the man behind the film’s VFXs issued a statement and called it a ‘historic milestone’. Malhotra, who is the founder of Prime Focus Limited, mentioned that he feels proud and said, “Winning the National Award for Best VFX Film for Brahmastra is a historic milestone that elevates the Indian VFX industry to new heights, globally. I am immensely proud of our team’s groundbreaking work in bringing Ayan Mukerji’s vision to life, resulting in this incredible recognition. Brahmastra represents a quantum leap in visual storytelling, and this award is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence by teams at DNEG and ReDefine.”
On Friday, Ayan Mukerji also issued a statement and stated that he feels very happy and grateful for the film’s achievement. “It’s a special day for us. I am deeply grateful for the recognition Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva has received at the National Awards. The music of the film holds a special place in all our hearts. Pritam Da’s compositions, coupled Amitabh’s lyrics and with Arijit’s voice, is something I feel so proud and grateful for! From the music to the visual effects, we poured a lot of love into making this film, and I thank the entire team for this fantastic collaborative effort which continues to give us so much love,” he said.
Meanwhile, after the success of Brahmastra, fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s sequel. In December 2023, News18 Showsha exclusively reported that Ranveer Singh has been finalised for the role of Dev in Ranbir Kapoor starrer. “Ranveer has been finalised to play the role of Dev. He has signed the dotted line. The scripting for the second part is still in progress and the film is expected to roll in 2025. Currently, Ayan is busy with War 2 and Ranveer will also begin shooting for Baiju Bawra this year. So, when Brahmastra 2 will go on floors is still unclear,” an insider told us. An official announcement regarding the same is still awaited.
