Talk about timing. The trailer of Allied, featuring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard was released on the same day as Angelina Jolie announced her separation from Pitt. While Jolie cited how Pitt's parenting style was not something she approved of, rumours were thick that the actress-filmmaker suspected her husband of cheating on her with Cotillard on the sets of Allied.
Set during the World War II, the film has Pitt and Cotillard playing a married couple. Both play intelligence officers whose marriage is threatened due to the pressure of the war.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film trailer divulges very little of the plot yet the chemistry between the lead is quite evident. Incidentally, in 2005, Pitt and Jolie's crackling chemistry in Mr & Mrs Smith purely gave away the affair that the couple had begun while filming. At that time Brad was married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
Meanwhile Cotilard has denied her role in the break up of Brangelina stating that she is expecting her second child with long time partner and French filmmaker Guillaume Canet.
