Anthony Mackie's Captain America: Brave New World May Finally Address Eternals' Lost Plot
Anthony Mackie starrer Captain America: Brave New World might finally throw light on the presence of the giant Celestial Tiamut’s statue from Eternals.

After the events of Eternals, where the team defeated Celestial Tiamut and prevented him from destroying Earth, they left behind a massive statue of Tiamut emerging from the ocean. Surprisingly, this detail has been oddly ignored by the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 did not bother to address this mysterious figure. However, it looks like Anthony Mackie starrer Captain America: Brave New World might finally throw light on the biggest MCU mystery.

Captain America 4 trailer shifts back to the politics theme, focusing on Sam Wilson struggling with the idea to work for the US government. While the majority of footage is filled with action packed scenes and a closer look at Sam wielding Steve Rogers’ iconic shield, one shot stands out, where Wilson is shown flying past a rocky monument resembling the site of Tiamut. Fans are buzzing with excitement as the MCU will finally revisit the unresolved storyline from Eternals.

Interestingly, the statue’s presence was previously mentioned in the She Hulk series, but you’d need a sharp eye to catch the detail. In the second episode, while Jen Walters was browsing a news website, a headline briefly mentions the Celestial Tiamut, “Why there is a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean.” The same scene also dropped a bombshell by confirming Wolverine’s arrival in the MCU, with another headline reading, “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl.”

Forbes has shared an intriguing theory about the dead Celestial Tiamut. According to the speculation, the massive statue could be a source of rare materials, which the world leaders are trying to control. This could pave the way to introduce Adamantium into the MCU, which is the strong metal known for having more power than Vibranium. More theories suggest that Brave New World might set the stage for the Thunderbolts’ debut.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to release on February 14, 2025. The movie stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson and Harrison Ford.
