Ajith Fan Injured After Petrol Bomb Hurled Outside Theatre Screening Valimai
The police have registered a case and started their investigations.

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s Valimai has been released in theatres worldwide today. There has been much excitement about the film but an untoward incident was also reported from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. One person was injured after a petrol bomb was hurled by bike-borne men at the crowd gathered outside a theatre.

The assailants threw a petrol bomb around 4.30 am, on February 24, when Naveen Kumar, an Ajith fan, was erecting a flex board of the star outside the cinema hall in Coimbatore’s Gandhipuram area, according to police.

Kumar sustained minor injuries in the incident. Police suspect that the rivalry between fan clubs of rival film stars could be behind the incident.

Action-drama Valimai is being screened on more than 20 screens in Coimbatore city. In Valimai, Ajith is playing a cop. The fans are excited to see if his character is different from the cop roles that he played in Mankatha and Yennai Arindhaal.

The film, helmed by H Vinoth, also includes actors Huma Qureshi, Karthikeya Gummakonda, and Yogi Babu, among others. The movie’s star cast and crew members are still busy promoting the films in various cities.

The film is bankrolled by producer Boney Kapoor and it is expected to break several box office records. The release of Valimai was postponed multiple times due to the Covid-19 pandemic and now it has finally hit the theatres.
