After Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi To Host Bigg Boss Tamil 9 Amid Maharaja Success? What We Know
Bigg Boss Tamil 9: Amidst the speculations, it’s been rumoured that both Sarath Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi are being considered for the hosting role.

A few days ago, Kamal Haasan officially announced that he will not be hosting the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil due to his film commitments. This news left fans speculating about who might step into his shoes. Rumours have since surfaced suggesting that Vijay Sethupathi could take on the role of host for Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9.

Bigg Boss Tamil, one of the most popular television shows in Tamil media, is telecast on Star Vijay channel and has consistently topped TRP ratings over its eight successful seasons. With Kamal Haasan stepping down, many anticipated that Silambarasan TR, who previously hosted Bigg Boss Ultimate (a spin-off of the main show), might be the next in line. However, he too is caught up with movie projects, leaving the spot open.

Amidst the speculations, it’s been rumoured that both Sarath Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi are being considered for the hosting role. Among them, Vijay Sethupathi appears to be the frontrunner. Known for his versatility, Vijay Sethupathi has already proven his hosting skills on television with shows like Namma Ooru Hero and MasterChef India—Tamil Season 1, which aired on Sun TV.

However, nothing has been confirmed yet, and fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is riding high on the success of his recent film Maharaja, where he plays the titular role. The film, released on June 14, has received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, quickly becoming one of the biggest South Indian releases of the year. Maharaja has even surpassed Aranmanai 4 in box office collections, making it the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year.

Directed and written by Nithilan Swaminathan, Maharaja features an ensemble cast including Mamta Mohandas, Anurag Kashyap, Sachana Namidass, and Natarajan Subramaniam. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under the banners of Passion Studios, The Route, and Think Studios.
