PARKAL ( WARANGAL ): Bad weather played spoilsport with Congress workers’ meeting at Gudepad in Atmakur mandal in the Parkal Assembly constituency on Sunday. When chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy rose to address the crowd, strong gale and thunderstorm disrupted the meeting and dampened the spirit of the Congress workers. The chief minister  and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana had to take shelter in a nearby college. Though the winds calmed down a little later, the chief minister could not address the meeting as the large tents collapsed and the chairs blown away. The Nature’s fury, lasting half an hour, left a Congress worker and a photographer were injured. At the beginning of the meeting, local leaders addressed the party workers, followed by the PCC chief. As the chief minister was getting ready to deliver his speech, a strong wind blew across the venue and within no time it turned into a windstorm. The chief minister, the PCC chief and other Congress leaders made a dash to a nearby engineering college to take shelter. After the thunderstorm died down, Kiran Kumar Reddy spoke to mediapersons. “Rain or shine, the Congress will in Parkal,” he told reporters. Attacking the YSRCP chief, the chief minister alleged that Jagan, along with TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, was tyring to divide the state. ‘‘They are playing politics in the name of caste, creed, religion and region. The TRS chief, his son, daughter and son-in-law have distributed the districts in the region among themselves and are looting the public in the name of Telangana.’’Criticising the proposed “deeksha” by the TRS chief, Kiran said, “It is not fair to politicise issues like water. The government is ready to hold an all-party meeting over the Krishna water issue.”On interrogation of ministers P Sabitha Indra Reddy and M Venkata Ramana by the CBI in the Jagan’s illegal assets case, he said, “Law will take its own course”. However, he gave a clean chit to all the ministers being quizzed by the CBI.
