Mohammed, the manager, says, “We are one of the oldest hotels in the city and are presently run by Khalid.” Surprisingly, Hotel Runs and the neighbouring Hotel Coronet, located at Adyar share similar beginnings. Both of the hotels are 50 years old and “our managers share the same name,” smiles Mustafa, a senior staff member.Despite the peeling paint on the outside, the hotel also has an air-conditioned family room for those who seek some respite from scorching sun. In the 70s, the hotel used to serve all varieties of dosas, idlis, chapathis and other South Indian dishes. Now that the hotel has been expanded (menu included), you can binge on an array of Chinese, Tandoori, Continental and Chettinad. “We believe in quality and quantity. Of course, our prices are also less compared to any other hotel in this locality,” promises Mohammed.  More often people like to place orders at Hotel Runs. Whether it’s a get together or kitty party, the delivery is quick and reliable. The smoking hot Prawn manchurian with Ghee rice is one of the  sought after combinations served at this place. Also, don’t miss out on their Kerala style chicken curry with Egg idiyappam (together for `125).
