Two minors among three arrested for loot

BHUBANESWAR: In what points to a rise in juvenile crime, the Khandagiri Police on Wednesday arrested three, including two minors,who had barged into a plywood company manager’s home in Tamando anddecamped with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables about a monthback. Police have also recovered a gold necklace, pendant besides sharp weapons from their possession. Two more involved in the crime are stillat large. The three were identified as Sujit Sethi, Manoj Sobhasundar and SusantNayak. Manoj and Susant are minors and belong to Sinanbadi area under Daringibadi police limits in Kandhamal.Investigation revealed that Sujit was working as a labourer at the complainantHemant Kumar Samal’s office. He had planned the burglary and roped in fourboys, all from Daringabadi area.On May 16 night, they broke into Samal’s house and decamped with twonecklaces, as many pendants, Rs 15,000 in cash and a mobile phone.The two minors were produced before a juvenile justice board at Khurda andremanded in custody. Sujit was produced before a local court here.
