HYDERABAD: The first spell of monsoon may have brought cheers to people across the city, but it spelt grief for a family in Alwal as two of its members got electrocuted when they tried to move an iron sheet to protect their cattle from rain in the wee hours of Wednesday. During the incident, a sheep also died. Alwal police said that two brothers- Babar and Afsar- died instantly after they got electrocuted. Early in the morning Afsar noticed that sheep grown by his family were getting drenched. He decided to take out a iron sheet and attempted to arrange it as a temporary shed. But while moving it, the iron sheet came in contact with a low lying electric wire and gave him an electric shock. “Noticing that Afsar was dying, Babar went to his rescue. But since it was raining, the power transmitted to his body too and he died,” Alwal sub-inspector Satyanarayana said. Later the sheet fell on a sheep which also died. Police said that Babar was a cycle mechanic while Afsar was a painter.
