Two arrested in the Jharkhand nun murder case
The victim, sister Valsa had told her family in Kochi that she faced death threats from mining mafia.

New Delhi: The Jharkhand police on Sunday arrested two people in connection with the murder of nun-cum-activist Valsa John in Pakur district. The police on Saturday detained three more people. In total, nine people have been detained by the police in connection with the nun's murder.

The needle of suspicion in the murder points at the coal mafia after her family claimed she received death threats. They said Valsa had told them that she faced death threats from mining mafia.

She was murdered in Pakur district of Jharkhand by a group of 40 unidentified men who dragged her out of her house and axed her to death.

Valsa even gave political outfits a tough time, sometimes causing even JMM chief Shibu Shoren to leave public meetings midway if she so desired.

Valsa's brutal murder raised many questions and only an independent probe can bring out the truth.
