The Kozhikode Additional District and Sessions Court-3 has directed to suspend the trial sessions of the Payyoli Manoj murder case, which were fixed to start from October 30 onwards.
On Saturday, Additional District and Sessions Court Judge N J Jose withheld the hearing of the case following a plea filed by the Kozhikode Crime Branch CI Prithvi Raj seeking a further probe into the case.
The state government had earlier ordered an inquiry into the murder by Crime Branch considering the request of Manoj’s relatives.
Taking this into account, Crime Branch moved a plea before the court. Additional Public Prosecutor E Raveendranath attended for the prosecution. TAdvocate V P Sreepadmanabhan was present for Leela and Pushpa, mother and wife of Manoj.
The duo submitted a plea before Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, seeking a further probe into the conspiracy hatched up to kill Manoj. Considering this, a CB inquiry into this.
