Punjagutta Police on Thursday registered a cheating case against the managing director (MD) of a private firm who allegedly duped more than 50 people of lakhs of rupees on the promise of providing tour packages to them.
According to police, Ch Radhakrishna, managing director of the Club9 Corporate Soulutions Pvt Ltd, ran a business of travel franchise and train and air tickets at Dwarkapuri Colony in Punjagutta.
The MD collected Rs 4 lakh from the six complainants on the promise to give franchises of tour packages.
“They took money from us few months ago, but there was no response. Even as we approached the company management, they refused to talk,” said one of the complainants, Kumara Swamy.
Later, they lodged a complain against the MD. The company offers various packages and collects money while selling travel franchises. Subscribers are given five percent commission if they add one more member to company’s clubs.
They are also given a tour package to Singapore, Malaysia or Bangkok if they make a business of Rs 25 lakh for the company.
