The HT/CNN-IBN exit poll predicts BJP in power whereas NDTV's Instapoll suggests a hung Assembly.

New Delhi: While the HT-CNN/IBN exit poll conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, suggests that while there is no anti-incumbency wave and that BJP will emerge with a clear majority in the state, the NDTV 24X7 Instapoll has predicted a hung Assembly in Uttarakhand.

NDTV's poll suggests that the ruling Congress and opposition BJP are set to get the same number of 25 to 35 seats in the 70-member House.

According to the survey, BSP is set to get 10-13 seats, up from seven, Uttarkhand Kranti Dal (UKKD) 5-8, which had won four seats in 2002, and others between one and five.

Others, including independents, had won four seats in 2002.

The survey shows a neck-and-neck race between the two major parties and throws up the possibility of a hung Assembly. In such a situation the BSP and the UKKD will play a major role in formation of the government.

A total of 32,178 samples were taken from the three regions - Terai, Kumaon and Garhwal - of the state for the survey.

However, Star News shows that it's clearly advantage BJP. The channel in its exit poll predicts 25 seats for Congress, 33 for BJP and 11 for Others.

However, the CNN-IBN poll conducted in parts by Yogendra Yadav, Sanjeev Kumar and Rajeeva Karandikar suggests that it will be a vote of no-confidence against the ruling Congress government in Uttarakhand.
