The various rulers of Haryana since 1966

Chandigarh: Haryana was carved out as a separate state from unified Punjab on November 1, 1966.

The Assembly strength of Haryana is 90 seats.

The BJP, which contested the 2014 assembly polls alone for the first time, had played second fiddle to other parties earlier. In the 2009 assembly polls, the BJP won only four seats in the 90-member assembly.
