MALAPPURAM: Mahila Morcha state president Shobha Surendran has demanded the government to suspend the CBI officials who tried to sabotage the investigation into the Kaviyoor sex scandal case and the suicide of the family of the victim Anagha. “The CBI officials who have tried to sabotage the investigation should be suspended and prosecuted immediately to find out the reason why they tried to subvert the case,” she said on Wednesday.Talking to newspersons here at a news conference, she also demanded the setting up of a fast track court to handle the cases of atrocities against women in the state. Referring to the rise in the number of incidents in the state in which women are assaulted, she said that Kerala has turned an insecure place for women.“There is a need to set up a fast track court exclusively for handling such cases,” she said.According to her, the government should take a more serious stand on Soumya’s case by appointing expert advocates than a single government pleader. Referring to the recent allegations of trying to sabotage the ice cream parlour sex scandal investigations by transferring the officials, she said government should not try to weaken the probe.“The probe into the scandal should be done under the supervision of the High Court, to make sure that the probe is on the right track,” she said.
