Actress Susan Sarandon's Manhattan home has been burgled and a laptop, camera and several pieces of jewellery found stolen.
The burglary took place on August 1, when the 67-year-old star was out of town, leaving behind her son. When he stepped out at night, the burglar broke in, reported the New York Post.
The burglar apparently used a ladder to hop from the roof next door to the top of the actress' nine-story brick building. Authorities suspect that he or she entered the home through a terrace window or door. Sarandon's son, on his return late night, saw that the house had been raided and immediately called the police.
The stolen items also include some papers. The details of the robbery are unclear at this point. The police are yet to announce the total value of the stolen jewellery.
