BANGALORE: Canara Bank, in keeping with its image as a responsible corporate social citizen, has sponsored several projects for the benefit the poor, needy and the under-privileged classes of the society. The bank is now participating in the fund-raising campaign of The Ramakrishna Math, Bull Temple Road, Bangalore, by donating an amount of Rs. 5.50 lakhs, towards providing school fees, books and school uniforms to fifty poor children and college fees and books to 10 poor and meritorious girl students. This is in keeping with the Bank’s Founding principle of ‘Spreading education to all’ . The cheque for Rs. 5.50 lakh was handed over to Swami Harshanandaji, Adhyakha of the Mutt by Ashok Kumar Gupta, Executive Director of the Bank on September 24.
