THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch the Skill Development Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Industry initiated by the Kerala Institute of Travel & Tourism Studies (KIITS) at KITTS Residency, Thycaud, at a function slated for 12 noon on Wednesday. Distribution of certificates of training and employment offer letters for the VHSE Finishing School students will also be held on the occasion, capping the notable achievement of students in various schools who completed VHSE Tourism through KITTS getting 100-per cent placement this year through campus recruitment. Transport and Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar will preside over the function. Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb will distribute certificates to students who have completed tourism studies in VHSE. Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar will distribute employment offer letters to the students. Mayor K Chandrika will launch the website of KITTS. Tourism Principal Secretary T K Manoj Kumar, General Education Department Secretary M Shivsankar, DPI A Shajahan, KTDC MD Rathan Kelkar and others will offer felicitations. U V Jose, Director, KITTS, will welcome delegates. Dr B Vijaya Kumar, principal, KITTS, will make a presentation on ‘Skill development training’ and M Abdul Rahman, Director, Vocational Higher Secondary Education, will make a presentation.
