CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday ordered setting up of Siddha wings in 10 ESI dispensaries at Sriperumbudur, Tambaram, Tiruvotriyur, Kumbakonam, Pallipalayam, Tuticorin, Rajapalayam, Kovilpatti, Pollachi and Thudiyalur. The CM also ordered appointment of a Siddha doctor and a Siddha compounder in the above dispensaries. Siddha wings are already functioning in the ESI hospitals in Tamil Nadu.Considering the increasing number of employees in factories, there is a need for opening new ESI dispensaries. The CM has directed that a new dispensary with three doctors and another with two doctors be established at Thuckalai and Manavalakurichi in Kanyakumari district. A new dispensary with two doctors will come up at Padappai in Kanchipuram district. The CM also directed that 13 new posts of medical personnel will be created for the new dispensaries at Manavalakurichi and Padappai.
