Scene stealers of Sholay
'Sholay' directed by Ramesh Sippy is a must watch film before you die

Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay is one of the most entertaining films ever made in the history of Indian cinema. Not a single scene in the film bores you and everything about the film is perfect. It didn’t take two and half years to make this film for nothing. Ramesh Sippy ensured that he didn’t settle for anything than best for every performance in the scene.

It is difficult to rank the scenes but few interactions among the characters which are still fresh in everybody’s mind are as follows.

Veeru (Dharmendra), with his unique mannerism, climbed the water tank and gathered all the villagers to express his woes, because Mausiji rejected his proposal to marry Basanti. Veeru threatens to kill himself by committing suicide but Mausiji refuses to have a change of heart. It was later that she agreed to his marriage proposal and Veeru had his way. In this scene, all Jai (Amitabh) did was wore a stylish cap and said, “Saala khade khade drama karta hai.”

Another scene which reflects electrifying on-screen chemistry between Hema Malini and Dharmendra is when he is teaching her to use the pistol in the woods. Veeru is trying to get close to Basanti in the name of training. Initially, Basanti doesn’t get the hint, but once she understands that Veeru is trying to get close to her, she immediately withdraws herself from learning to use the gun.

Kitne aadmi the? This is the line which defines the character of the most hated villain in Bollywood, Gabbar. The role was essayed by Amjad Khan and in the scene he was very angry with his men as they failed to bring anything from the village. He gets wilder when one of his men informs him that their mission failed only because of two men.

So, these are few of the scenes which truly state the greatness of the film. Watch out for this space for more news about Sholay.
