New Delhi: Thanks to the huge publicity drive, 'Satyagraha' opens to packed houses. In fact, it has become the biggest opener of Prakash Jha's career. The film features Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay devgn, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee in important roles. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets, "#Satyagraha grew steadfastly and robustly in evening/night shows. Collects Rs 11.21 cr on Friday. Prakash Jha's biggest opener thus far."
He also tweets, "#Satyagraha opens to a strong word of mouth in UAE-GCC. Thu AED 430,000. Few screens yet to report. Bigger start than #Raajneeti."
The film's collection is definitely not anywhere close to 'Chennai Express' or 'Ek Tha Tiger' but it may emerge as one of the bigger hits of the year in a longer run.
The film presents Amitabh Bachchan as a retired school teacher cum social activist, and he is the one who has carried the film on his shoulders.
