Robert Vadra aims to connect with people, asks for help for Nepal earthquake victims

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra is making an attempt to connect with the people. After being accused in land grabbing case, Vadra is keeping a very low profile after the fall of the Congress government at the Centre.

He has now made an appeal on his Facebook page requesting everyone to help Nepal earthquake victims.

"Hi, Hope all my FB Friends are healthy and happy. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the earthquake victims, relating to the Loss and devastation. I have synergised organisations world over, to get the correct information on actual requirements and individuals to help the earthquake victims get the correct and efficient support they need. If anyone is willing and wants to help the people in need, please be a part and email [email protected]. We will not be accepting cash or cheques. Best wishes," Vadra posted.

Nepal is devastated after it was hit by a 7.9-magnitude earthquake on April 25 resulting in the death of over 6,200 people. Nepal Army Chief General Gaurav Rana, who is leading the nationwide rescue effort, said the death toll may climb to 15,000.

According to the United Nations, 600,000 houses have been destroyed or damaged.

Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat said Nepal would need at least $2 billion to rebuild homes, hospitals, government offices and historic buildings and appealed for help from international donors.
