Roads, rail, and air get fair share

CHENNAI: A total of Rs 3.7 lakh crore is required in the next 11 years to boost the transport infrastructure in the state, according to the Vision 2023.These include development of mono or metro rail networks in two other cities besides Chennai, a freight corridor connecting Chennai and Thoothukudi besides high speed rail link connecting Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Kanyakumari.It is also planning upgrading existing airports in Coimbatore, Tiruchy and Madurai to international class.
