Rally and fast in support of Anna Hazare today

PUDUCHERRY: Civil society members would organise a day-long fast and processions here on Saturday in support of Gandhian Anna Hazare, who is fasting in Delhi calling for a strong anti-corruption law.The processions would start from four different points of Puducherry town and end at the AFT Ground on the Cuddalore Road. It will be followed by the day-long fast. The rallies will start from Muthialpet Market, Rajiv Gandhi Statue, Indira Gandhi Statue and Murungapakkam Drowbathy Amman Koil.People’s Pulse, Civic Consciousness Movement, 5th Pillar, Indian Social Action Forum Pondycan,  Confederation of Govt Employees Associations, Puducherry People’s Protection Committee and Rajiv Gandhi Human Rights Awareness Organisation have jointly organised the protest.Meanwhile, Pondicherry State Government Employees Central Federation held a demonstration in front of Raj Nivas on Thursday seeking inclusion of Puducherry in the proposed Lokpal.  The General Secretary of the Federation, P Lakshmanasamy said that government employees would support Hazare. He said that it has been resolved that government employees would neither accept bribes not give them.
