BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday, in its interim order, directed the Parachute Regiment Training Centre (PRTC) to open the Saber Line Road in J C Nagar for public use. The PRTC had closed the road in 2003 claiming that it belongs to them. The residents of the area approached the Court, stating that it should be open to the public and the court directed the PRTC to leave the road for public use.However, the PRTC did not open the road. In the Court, they submitted that the road was opened for public use and commutation.The petitioners A R Suresh and others, filed a contempt of court petition on September 17, 2010. The PRTC claimed that if it leaves the road open to the public, it will be a problem for their practice and security. Hearing the petition, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna, in its the interim order, stated that the residents in Modi Garden Layout shall be allowed to use Saber Line Road from Modi Garden Layout to the main road to Deve Gowda Road.The entry of Gate No 2 and 3 into the explosive training centre shall be totally prohibited. The residents of Modi Gardan Layout and Kavalbyrasandra may go through an alternative route.
