BANGALORE: Social activist Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption is gaining more support across the state with every passing day. On Sunday too, the sixth day of the protest, processions and candle light marches took place across the state. While the epicentre of Hazare’s movement in Bangalore, the Freedom Park, was filled with Anna supporters, who appeared to be determined to continue their fight till the end, it was the same scenario in many parts of the state with people cutting across all social backgrounds taking to streets.Noted cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty, theatre personality Master Hirannaiah and freedom fighter H S Doreswamy addressed the gathering and called upon young people to take part in the movement as its success would ensure a better future. On their part, political parties, barring the Congress, have also left no stone unturned to make their presence felt in the anti-graft crusade. While BJP held protest marches in several places, JD(S) and the Left have jointly announced an agitation on August 23. JD(S) president H D Deve Gowda, who was in Haveri to attend a party function, described Hazare as a voice of the middle class and youth against corruption. What’s your business here?
