Poonch Attack: Army Release Sketches of Two Pakistani Terrorists, Offers Rs 20 Lakh Reward
On Saturday evening, five IAF personnel were injured in the attack near Shahsitar, and one of them later succumbed to injuries at a military hospital

The Indian Army on Monday released sketches of two Pakistani terrorists and announced a reward of ₹20 lakh for information leading to the arrest of these individuals believed to be responsible for the recent attack on the Indian Air Force’s vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

On Saturday evening, near Shahsitar in Poonch district, terrorists ambushed a convoy, injuring five air force personnel. They were evacuated to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. Tragically, one of them, IAF Corporal Vikky Pahade, succumbed to bullet injuries.

Sources indicate that a group of four terrorists carried out the attack. The ambush on the convoy occurred near Shahsitar in the Surankote area around 6:15 pm while the troops were returning to their base at Sanai Top.

In a post on X, the IAF offered condolences to Pahade’s family on Sunday.

“The CAS Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari & all personnel of Indian Air Force salute the braveheart Corporal Vikky Pahade, who made the supreme sacrifice in Poonch Sector, in the service of the nation,” the Indian Air Force wrote.

The officials stated that teams of the Army’s Para Commandos were deployed in the search operation. As of now, there has been no “contact” with the terrorists.

Additionally, several individuals have been detained for questioning in connection with the attack, which marks the first major incident in the Jammu region this year.
