Thirty-five teachers of the Pondicherry University were presented with the Best Teacher award by their respective departments based on student evaluation on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof J A K Tareen said the tradition of appreciating the best in teaching must continue, adding that the best reward a teacher can get is when he/she is etched in a student’s memory for many years to come.
The VC also appreciated the university’s growth chart adding that 251 of the total 390 teachers were recruited in the last five years.
The challenge before the teachers, however, was to carry this growth forward not only in the teaching but also in the field of research and overall development of students, Prof Tareen concluded.
