BANGALORE: KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar has urged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to quit for his alleged attempts to influence Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde to exclude his name in the final report on illegal mining in the state.
"It is deplorable that the three top BJP functionaries who are holding positions in government sought to bring pressure on Justice Hegde for keeping Yeddyurappa's name out of the final report on illegal mining. This action amounts to browbeating the Constitutional body," Parameshwar addressed the reporters here on Saturday. Justice Hegde had told the media that three top BJP leaders Dr V S Acharya (higher education minister), A G Kodgi (state finance commission chairman) and V Dhananjay Kumar (government's representative in Delhi) had approached him and sought the exclusion of the chief minister's name from his final report on illegal mining.

Parameshwar said it is not sufficient if Yeddyurappa drops the three functionaries as they could not have gone on their own to influence Justice Hegde.
