Nadal and Agassi on collision course
Nadal and Agassi on collision course
Should Nadal win, and Agassi get past Andreas Seppi on Thursday, they will meet in an intriguing third-round clash.

London: Claycourt steamroller Rafael Nadal continues his adaption to the lush Wimbledon lawns on Thursday when he opens day four's Centre Court programme against American qualifier Robert Kendrick.

The world number two from Spain, who claimed his second French Open title earlier this month, is 235 places above Kendrick in the world rankings but will be taking nothing for granted on a surface that blunts many of his weapons.

Should second seed Nadal win, and eight-times grand slam champion Andre Agassi get past Italy's Andreas Seppi on court one on Thursday, they will meet in an intriguing third-round clash.

Agassi, who will retire after the US Open, was given a tremendous ovation before his first round match and Seppi will find few people rooting for him.

Defending women's champion Venus Williams faces experienced compatriot Lisa Raymond in second round action, while world number one Amelie Mauresmo plays Australia's Samantha Stosur.

With Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski both out, Scotland's Andy Murray will shoulder British hopes when he plays Frenchman Julien Benneteau on Centre Court.

Australia's Lleyton Hewitt, the last man to win the men's singles before the Roger Federer three-year reign began, faces Hyung-Taik Lee, the South Korean, in second round play.
