The Director General of Shipping will send an emergency towing vessel to salvage the 999 ton ship.
Mumbai: There has still been no movement on MV Pavit, a Panama flagged oil tanker stranded in shallow waters near Juhu in Mumbai since Sunday. But fears are rising among residents of the possibility of oil spewing from the ship.
The Director General of Shipping will send an emergency towing vessel to salvage the 999 ton ship. Coastguard Ship Amrutkaur has also been sent to initiate an investigation into the incident.
The Mumbai police had filed a negligence case in the matter on Monday.
This came just a month after another ship MV Wisdom ran aground and risked the Worli sea link.
