BHUBANESWAR: Curtains came down on the three-day annual Mukteswar Dance Festival here on Monday. The evening began with the rendition of ‘Shiva Bandana’ by singers of Pt. Raghunath Panigrahi & Group. The music was scored by Panigrahi.This was followed by solo recital by renowned Odissi dancer Madhusmita Mohanty who presented ‘Haragouryastaka’ in Mangalacharan and invoked the blessing of Lord Siva and Parvati while eulogising the glory and the beauty of Siva and Parvati. It culminated with synergy of Prakruti and Purusa as ‘Ardhanariswara’.It was based on the music composition by Guru Ramahari Das and rhythm composition by Guru Dhaneswar Swain and Guru R K Patra. The dance was choreographed by Aruna Mohanty. The second event was a scintillating duet by Canada-based brother-sister duo Ellora and Devraj Pattnaik. Highly acclaimed, they performed ‘Abhinaya’ based on the theme ‘Dasavatara’.The final performance of the evening was a group show by Jyoti Srivastava and Group from Vaishali Kala Kendra in UP. In the last two days, the festival saw performances by eminent dancers like Illeana Citaristi, Aloka Kanungo, Rahul Acharya, Guru Chittaranjan Acharya, Asmita Kar Mohapatra, Pravat Kumar Swain, Arupa Gayatri Panda and dancers from Bhubaneswar-based Rudrakshya.Among others, Tourism Secretary Ashok Tripathy, former V-C of Sambalpur University and Odissi exponent Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi, eminent singer Pranab Pattnaik, Director, Tourism, H S Upadhyay and his Culture counterpart S K Das were present.
