BANGALORE: A frenzied mob set two KSRTC buses on fire and damaged five BMTC buses after a person was run over by a KSRTC bus in Doddaballapur on Saturday.According to the police, the victim Pillappa (28) is an employee of a private factory. The mishap occurred while he was returning from filling petrol in his two-wheeler on a pump on Hindupur-Bangalore State Highway. His colleagues immediately resorted to ‘rasta roko’ and torched the bus that killed their colleague.Another bus, which was coming from Doddaballapur to Bangalore, was stopped by the mob. The passengers were asked to alight and the bus was set on fire. They also pelted stones at five BMTC buses and broke its window panes. Tension gripped the town for more than an hour. On receiving the information, police came there and resorted to ‘lathi charge’, in which several sustained injuries. The traffic on the highway was hit.
